Writer Tricia Renée Kucinski talks about the Native American experience through her lens during the writer’s center event.
Renée described her family tree as being pure before colonization; however, after that, it faded into impurity, which she does not take the fall for. This pertains not only to her family but also to Native Americans as a whole.
“But if you rewinded time pre-colonization, my tree was mighty. My soil was pure. We do not own this curse. I do not accept this blame”, she said in her book.
