Observer accepts honors at Student Life Leadership Banquet

The Observer was presented with a Student Life Purpose Award at the Elgin Community College Student Life Leadership Banquet on May 10.

Luz Silva, who has served as editor-in-chief since January 2019, earned a Distinguished President Award.
Shealeigh Voitl, who has served as managing editor since September 2018, earned a Leadership Award.
Silva and Voitl led the Observer staff to several awards from the Illinois Community College Journalism Association.
