According to Alanis, he commented if the team will get better in the second half.
“I think they’re gonna pick up their momentum. I assume they’re gonna build off of that into the second half.”
The second year student stated the team’s performance in the first half.
“I think they did well. They didn’t really miss that many shots. They seem to pass the ball well.”
Alanis predicted that the team would have a chance to win tonight.

“I think they have a good gap to win the scores, and if they keep riding that momentum, I think they’ll come out on top.”

Coach Eumeka Aguado gave her thoughts on the team’s win tonight.
“I’m proud that we got a win. We played really great basketball.” Aguado said.
She explains her takeaways on this game.
“We just got to take care of the basketball a lot better. Takeaways is getting in the gym and kind of working on making better decisions, getting more confident with the balls that we can enable the press better.”
Aguado mentioned that the team has a chance of playing better than last season.
“Last year, we had a lot of injuries, and there was only so much we can do with the bodies that we have. This year, even though we do have a few injuries, I feel like we’ll be fine in a week, and we have girls that are skilled and that they really want to win, so I think we’re going to do a lot better than last year. That was always the goal.”
Guard Mazaiah Marc is proud of the team’s performance tonight.
“Yes, I’m very happy. It’s our first home game. It felt very good to win. We came together as a team, and we finally put all our pieces together.” she said.
According to Marc, she explains how the team plays well offensively.
“Just basically running our kicks all the way through, staying together as a team, making it out for some bad shots and hitting the high.”
Marc mentions the improvements that the team needs to work on moving forward.
“Basically staying disciplined on offense and defense, and just listening to what the coach has to say throughout the game and making sure we put our foot to the gas the whole time.” she explained.
The team’s next game will be against Joliet Junior College at the Spartans Events Center on Friday.
