The Elgin Community College Women’s basketball team recently finished off their regular and postseason. Their last regular season game was against Oakton Community College. The team ended the season with a win having the final score being 56-51. The team played 29 games overall scoring a total of 1,714 points.

“I hope that we play hard as a team and that we make it as far in the postseason as we can,” said Rachel Dumoulin co-captain of the team.

The team went on to play in the postseason against Milwaukee Area Technical College for the quarterfinals. The Lady Spartans were able to defeat MATC with a final score of 71-58. According to Dumoulin, this marked the first time in several years that the ECC Women’s basketball team had made it this far in the postseason.

“We’ve always been there for one another and we always pick each other up when one of us might not be having that good of a game, that’s how we’ve made it this far,” said Arely Ramos co-captain of the team.

The team continued its postseason journey on to the semi-finals against Rock Valley College. The two schools faced off against one another at Madison College in Madison, Wisconsin where ECC lost to Rock Valley College. The final score was 87-57.
