Are you a creative writer? The Observer is launching the Creative Writing Nook to showcase ECC student writing of poems, fiction, creative writing fiction and other creative writing genres. You can submit your work for consideration of publication here.
Your contribution will allow us to send students to the National College Media Conference in San Francisco in March 2026. This will grant them an opportunity to learn about about journalism and receive recognition for their work.
This is DuFresne’s second year at ECC pursuing her Recovery Support Specialist Certification. This is her first year at the Observer. DuFresne joined the Observer to quell her long-held intrigue of the journalism field. She is interested in covering topics relating to mental health issues and social causes. As a Certified RSS, being an advocate for those who are marginalized in society is essential, and writing for the Observer is a great platform to advocate for those in need. DuFresne’s personal motto is a quote from Shakespeare, “The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.” Contact information: [email protected]
