This is Velez’s first year at ECC pursuing an associate in science and first year on the Observer staff. Velez joined The Observer in hopes of sharing diverse experiences and learning more about journalism. She is interested in covering a variety of subjects and aims to inform others through reporting topics relevant today. The personal motto she goes by is, “Life moves forward.”
